Welcome
to The Joy Path – your road to health and prosperity. I hope you will find this web site useful as
you travel your journey to creating a life filled with joy, health and
prosperity
My
mother said I was born to be a teacher as she watched me line up my dolls and
lecture them at the age of four! I
always enjoyed writing, so it seemed natural to major in English Education in
undergraduate school. Reading and
organizational skills always intrigued me so that is where I pursued advanced
degrees.
For
the first ten years of my professional life, I was a high school and college
English teacher. I loved the students but felt overwhelmed by all the related
work when I had children of my own. I
left teaching to work with nonprofit organizations, both as a founder of a
local housing organization and then staff at a national housing nonprofit.
After
seventeen years of this work, I became disabled and spent three years at home
seeking to find ny path back to health.
It was a challenging but successful journey. I then created a consulting
business focused on helping community-based and faith-based nonprofits become
healthier and more prosperous.
My
life has always been about balancing the needs of self, family, work and
community – although I often found myself out of balance, particularly in the
areas of health and financial prosperity.
I have had the good fortune to be able to explore many different paths
to balance…and this, combined with my education, career, and community work has
led to The Joy Path.
This site is committed to you – both individuals and nonprofit organizations – to offer specific skills and tools to help you in your journey to joyful health and prosperity.
