Twenty Five Ways to Raise $1,000 for Your Favorite Charity

Monday, Oct 4th, 6:00 to 8:30 PM  (Fee $34)

Whether you are looking to raise $1,000 for a particular project or you want to raise much more money for your nonprofit this year, this class is for you. The instructor will present twenty five specific ways that you (as a board member, staff or volunteer) can raise $1,000.  Then each student will have the opportunity to create a one-page plan to raise money for a project or charity. No previous fundraising experience is necessary, just the willingness to learn and the desire to find funding for what you support.  Want to make this an even more productive experience?  Come with a friend or colleague so you can work together to raise more money.

Understanding Your Nonprofit's Finances: The Three Questions You Need to Ask

Monday, Sept. 27th,  6:00 to 8:30 pm  (Fee $34)

You don’t have to be an accountant to understand the finances of your nonprofit. Come to this class to learn the questions that will unlock the "secrets" of those reports you may find confusing. The instructor has taught thousands of board members including people without a high school diploma through those with advanced degrees.  To get the most out of this session, students are encouraged to bring financials from their nonprofit.

Are you convinced that there are grants funds out there that could help your organization but you don’t know where to begin looking? Does your nonprofit have a program that is really needed by the community but you need more funds to support it? Have you started writing a proposal but been deterred by creating a complex budget or trying to understand what the funder really wants in the narrative? Are you a volunteer who has time to give but wouldn’t know where to begin seeking grants?  By the end of these four classes, you have have the answers to all these questions and many more that you haven’t even thought of yet.
